Taken from The Area Pioneer newspaper, June 7, 1950: DIES DURING THE WEEK June 7, 1950 Funeral services were held Sunday at the Prairie Farm Lutheran Church for Merrimond "Grandpa" Caswell, 98, of Prairie Farm. Mr. Caswell was a sawmill and threshing rig operator in Prairie Farm and Jones Creek areas for 65 years. Burial was in Prairie Farm Cemetery. Rev. Hj. Froiland officiated. Surviving are two daughters, Grace of Menomonie and Mrs. Harry Buck of Prairie Farm, and four sons, Lewis, Warren, Merton, and Wiley. Attending the funeral from Dallas was Dolphus O'Flanagan.
