Carrie Lien, daughter of Ole Lien and Guri Wold, who came to this country from Norway, bringing their two children, Carrie and Anna, (Anna went to Eugene Oregon), and settled first in Menomonie, Wisconsin, where the mother died. Later the father brought the family to Barron County, Wisconsin, and settled in Section 12, Vance Creek Township. They here developed a good farm. He married Emma Flaw,and by this union had three boys and one girl. He died on October 11, 1908, at the age of 64 years. Mrs. William Caswell was a gracious lady of many pleasant qualities and was noted for her hospitality.
