| Notes |
- [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 2, Ed. 1, Tree #5006, Date of Import: Apr 26, 1997]
Information from his death certificate (obtained 4/1987) states the
following facts: died at the age of 76 years, 5 months, 22 days;
he died of apoplexy (a stroke), with artriosclerosis as contributory
cause; he was buried in the Omro Cemetery (visited by Dave and Mary
in August, 1988) on Oct 2, 1908; the informant on the death certificate
was his son, C. A. Coe, Jr.; his occupation at the time of death was
a farmer.
According to the 1905 Wisconsin State Census, C. A. Coe and
"Emma M. Coe" were alive and living in Omro (Winnebago County) as a
retired farmer. Both listed their age as 72.
Charles A. Coe, Sr. parents were both born in Massachusetts.
Much of the data on Charles and Mary was found on the 1900 U. S.
Census taken June 6, 1900, in Oshkosh City, Winnebago County,
Wisconsin. Charles' occupation was listed as blacksmith. They had two
children, and only Charles Jr. was alive at the time of the census.
Dave and Mary searched National Archives in Washington, D.C. on
8/2/89. We found a Charles COE that served in the Union Army in
N.Y. Unfortunately he would have been born in 1847, so it can't be
"our" Charles COE.
