  [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 7, Ed. 1, Tree #4588, Date of Import: Aug 24, 1997] Sarah White, (62) daughter of Josiah White and Mary Rice, Sawyer was also the name of her mother's second husband. Sarah may have a sister named Mary Sawyer who married Nathanael Wilder. The old book gives her as a widow. She was not. She got the name Sawyer from her mother's second husband, Thomas Sawyer, AFN 9KS7-5R, whom she married July 15, 1718, after the death of Josiah White in November 1714. Josiah White, son of John White ( immigrated 1638, died May, 1673) and Joan ( surname unknown, died May 18, 1654 ) was baptized June 4, 1643 in Wenham, MA. Mary Rice, daughter of Thomas Rice of Marlsboro, MA. and Mary King. Sawyer was the surname of her second husband. Mary Rice, aka Nancy Rice.
