• Notes

  After his marriage, O'Dell spent his entire life in Tinmouth as a carpenter, except for 1923-1927, when he was employed as a stone cutter in the Northfield granite sheds. He was an expert fisherman, hunter, and an avid bee hunter. In his younger years he was quite a melody-maker with his violin. O'Dell was in great demand at corn huskings, hoedowns, and dances. Not only in demand in Tinmouth, but in surrounding towns (Danby and Wallingford) as well.
