  [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 2, Ed. 1, Tree #5006, Date of Import: Apr 26, 1997] Philip was the first Secretary of the Colony of Rhode Island. He came to the America in 1632 or 1633, first to Roxbury, Massachusetts. He was admitted freeman on May 14, 1634, and went to Portsmouth, Rhode Island in 1638. When Philip was banished from Massachusetts to Rhode Island, he was "dis-armed", turning in his arms to Captain John Johnson (another great grandfather).
