  [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 2, Ed. 1, Tree #5006, Date of Import: Apr 26, 1997] Both of Moritz Schneller's parents were born in Switzerland. Much of the information we have comes from the 1900 U. S. Census and the 1905 Wisconsin Census, both of which were taken in Fairfield Town, (Sauk County), Wisconsin, and the 1870 Census taken in the Town of Sumpter, County of Sauk, on August 11, 1870. Moritz was listed as a farmer, and they had a total of six children, all living at the time of the 1900 Census. Dave and Mary searched National Archives in Washington, D.C. on 8/2/89. We found no record of Moritz serving in the Civil War from the state of Wisconsin.
