Witnesses at their wedding were Robert Schneller and Etha Norton.
Eugene is buried in Baraboo. Dave and Mary visited gravesite 8/88.
Both parents were born in Ohio (according to 1910 Federal
Census), New York (according to 1900 Federal Census), and Wisconsin
(according to Eugene's death certificate).
Columbus, Wisconsin Newpaper Article at his death: E. W. Norton,
Retired Railroad Man, Dies - Eugene W. Norton, 83, a retired railroad
foreman, died at St. Mary's Hospital Monday afternoon. He had been a
patient there for several weeks.
Mr. Norton lived in Milwaukee and following the death of his wife
12 years ago came to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. George
McKay of Fall River.
Two sons, Gloyd of Gary, Indiana and Earl of West Allis and the
daughter, Thelma McKay, a sister, Mrs. Jim Cummings of Baraboo, 8
grandchildren and 6 great grand children survive.
The body is at the Jones and Tuschen Funeral Home where friends
may call until Thursday afternoon. Funeral services will be held there
at 1 o'clock with Rev. Paul Smith officiating.
Burial will be at the Baraboo Cemetery."
According to the 1910 Census, Eugene was a section foreman on
the railroad. We also have the 1905 Wisconsin State Census. Both
Census' were taken in the village Wonewoc, Juneau County, Wisconsin.
