Gamaliel Wilder, settled in Hartland, and when about 40 years of age he bought the township of land now known as South Bristol, Ontario Co., New York. He moved there, as near as we can ascertain, about 1790. Some of his brothers and their children had emigrated about that time, and formed a cosiderable portion of the inhabitants. His children, whose mother's name and dates of birth were not obtained.

Gardner Wilder,9-3, (184) son of Gardner Wilder,8-2, (47) and Mary Phelps, (181) of Buckland, was one of the first settlers of Buckland, Massachusetts, and his son Gardner was the first male child born in the town. In the year 1878 they had traced of his lineage over sixty names of whom, or connected with whose families, are four ministers and two physicians; some are mechanics, but they were chiefly farmers. Thomas Warner, a lumber dealer at that time, and an enthusiastic numismatist, of Cohocton, Steuben Co., N.Y., is, by his mother, one of this line. They were found in Buckland and Charlemont, Massachusetts; in Steuben and Livingston Counties, N.Y.; and in Michigan.

Geoffrey Plantagenet, Count of Anjou (Angevin House.) Launched the Angevin dynasty upon a new and splendid career. This was the environment that assuredly had much to do with the early development of Normandy.
Plantagenet was the family name of a line of kings that ruled England from 1154 to 1399. The kings descended from the marriage of Matilda, daughter of King Henry I, to Geoffrey, count of Anjou, France. Geoffrey was nicknamed "Plantagenet" because he wore a sprig of the broom (genet) plant in his cap. Many historians call these kings Angevins.
The Plantagenet dynasty began with Henry II, son of Matilda and Geoffrey.
