Captain Ephraim Wilder, married Lucretia Locke, eldest daughter of Samuel and Rebecca (Richardson) Locke of Woburn and Lancaster. Rebecca was the daughter of Capt. James and Elizabeth (Arnold) Richardson of Woburn. Samuel Locke kept a public house in Lancaster for many years which was much resorted to. Lucretia was a sister of Rev. Samuel Locke, D.D., president of Harvard College from 1770 to 1773, nearly four years. Ephraim Wilder lived in that part of Lancaster incorporated 1781, as the town of Sterling, of which town he was a representative some years.

Carrie Lien, daughter of Ole Lien and Guri Wold, who came to this country from Norway, bringing their two children, Carrie and Anna, (Anna went to Eugene Oregon), and settled first in Menomonie, Wisconsin, where the mother died. Later the father brought the family to Barron County, Wisconsin, and settled in Section 12, Vance Creek Township. They here developed a good farm. He married Emma Flaw,and by this union had three boys and one girl. He died on October 11, 1908, at the age of 64 years. Mrs. William Caswell was a gracious lady of many pleasant qualities and was noted for her hospitality.

Nelson at Prairie Farm, they farmed in the Prairie Farm area until her husband's death in 1945. Mrs. Nelson was a resident in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for seven years, moving to the village of Prairie Farm in 1971. She returned to Milwaukee to live with her daughters for several years before moving to Pioneer Home in Prairie Farm in 1989. She was a longtime member of United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm and a charter member of the Hope Circle. She was also a member of the Prairie Farm American Legion Auxillary.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Prairie Farm Lutheran Church for Merrimond
"Grandpa" Caswell, 98, of Prairie Farm. Mr. Caswell was a sawmill and threshing rig operator in
Prairie Farm and Jones Creek areas for 65 years. Burial was in Prairie Farm Cemetery. Rev. Hj.
Froiland officiated. Surviving are two daughters, Grace of Menomonie and Mrs. Harry Buck of
Prairie Farm, and four sons, Lewis, Warren, Merton, and Wiley. Attending the funeral from Dallas
was Dolphus O'Flanagan.

Daniel Wilder, was by trade a Carpenter and in early life lived in Orwell, Vermont. He removed to Malone, N. Y., where he lived many years, and then went with one of his sons to Michigan, where he died in 1851. We have the names of his children, though not in the order of their birth. He married in Northern Vermont.

David Wilder, son of Deacon David Wilder and Anna Willard Prentice, was a veteran of the French and Indian Wars, was at Ticonderoga in 1760 and was commanding Captain of the Minute Men of Leominster in 1775.

Dea. Abijah Wilder, son of Andrew, a farmer of Lancaster, Mass., and Elizabeth Carter, was born in 1752; came to Keene about 1774; "a mechanic of great celebrity in his day;" had a cabinet shop on the Walpole road, probably the present "old Sun tavern," and his dwelling, towards the last of his life was nearly opposite, a little below. In 1799 he secured a patent for the invention of betiding sleigh runners by steaming the wood; and carried on a large business in the manufacture of sleighs and carriages.
He married, in 1774, Sarah, daughter of Gideon Ellis, of Keene. The children by that marriage were: Abigail, born in 1775, married Abijah Kingsbury; Sarah, born in 1780, married James Wells of Keene, lieutenant in the Eleventh United States Infantry in the war of 1812.
He married, second, in November, 1780, Martha Blake, of Wrentham, Mass. The children by that marriage were: Patty (Martha), born in 1781, never married, was super- intendent of the Sabbath school for forty-three years; Abijab, born 1784.
He married, third, in 1785, Beulah Johnson. His children by that marriage were: Hepzibah, born in 1787, married Joseph Wheeler; Azel, born in 1788.
He married, fourth, in 1789, Tamar Wilder.
He was a deacon of the church for forty-eight years, leader of the choir for fifty years, and was an active, energetic citizen, prominent in town affairs and in all good enterprises. Dr. Barstow used to speak of him as " good Deacon Wilder."
He died in January 9, 1835, at age 83. From the book "History of Keene".

Death Certificate shows date as December 8, 1941, 3:40 AM. 81yrs, 5 mos., 5 days. His certificate of Naturalization, No. 2018326, Petition Volume 11, Number 1135, dated January 9, 1925, states he was 5'-8" tall, had blue eyes, fair complexion, grey hair, and was 64 years of age at the time.
John Seeger was the proprietor of the Pine Valley Farm, Section 4, Prairie Farm Township, was born in Wurttemberg, Germany, July 30, 1860, one of sixteen children of John and Christina (Chela) Seeger,who spent the span of their years in the old country. The subject of this sketch attended school in Germany and became a potter. He came to the United States in 1877, stayed in Cincinnati, Ohio, for a short time, then came to Chicago, Illinois, and from there to Red Wing, in Goodhue County, Minnesota, in which vicinity he worked on farms for four years. Then he moved across the river into Pierce County, Wisconsin, and rented a farm in Maiden Rock Township, Wisconsin. There he continued to farm for many years, working in the winter seasons for Knapp, Stout & Co. in the lumber woods in Pierce and Barron counties, Wisconsin. In 1910, Mr. Seeger bought the N. P. Eggen farm of 160 acres of improved land in section 4, Prairie Farm Township, Wisconsin. This place known as the Pine Valley Farm, is one of the most prosperous farms in this vicinity and everything about it bespeaks the thrift and intelligent attention of the owner. John Seeger successfully carried on general farming and dairying. He had a good herd of Guernsey cattle, a good drove of Poland China Swine, and some excellent Belgian horses. Mr. Seeger has identified himself thoroughly with the life and interests of the township, and has joined the Barron County Farm Bureau. He is a stockholder in the Prairie Farm Cooperative Association. While in Pierce County he served on the school board of his district. He is a useful citizen of solid and substantial worth, and enjoys an excellent standing in the community. Mr. Seeger was married at Red Wing, Minnesota, in May 1881, to Lizzy Suter, who was born on Prairie Island, in Goodhue County, Minnesota, in 1860, and died near Red Wing, Minnesota, in the same county, in February,1884. He was married May 16, 1886, to Catherine Caswell, who was born in Maiden Rock, Pierce County, Wisconsin, May 17, 1865, the daughter of Peter W. and Nancy (Henry) Caswell. This union has been blessed with twelve children: Sallie, Francis (deceased), Nancy (deceased), William J., Myrtle (Mrs. John Nelson of Prairie Farm Township), Edgar, Anna, Harley and Harry (twins), Catherine (Mrs. Arthur Larson of Prairie Farm Township), John and Beatrice. William J. was inducted into the World War service February 23, 1918, trained at Camp Grant, Illinois, and Camp Logan, Texas, with depot brigades, and was discharged January 8, 1919. Edgar was inducted into the service in August, 1918, trained for infantry service at Camp Grant, and was discharged January 6, 1919. Both contacted the influenza during their service. Both are now members of the American Legion.
Prairie Farm Township, Wisconsin occupies Township 32, Range 13. The town was created March 30, 1874.It then embraced Township 32 and 33, Range 13; and Townships 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36, Range 14. The first town meeting was ordered held in the hall of Knapp, Stout & Co., in the present village. The first officers were elected April 7, 1874, as follows: Supervisors, S. K. Young (chairman), Henry Holmes and August Roemhild; treasurer, Isaac Sprague; clerk, Fred Telke; justices of the peace, S. K. Young and Ole Holmen; assessor, Ole Holmen; sealer of weights and measures, Casper Rassbach; constables, L. C. Selvig and Lewis Wart. The present officers are: Supervisors, Frank N. Roemhild (chairman), Albert O. Breen and M. T. Downs; treasurer, Carl J. Johnson; clerk, Frederick Paulson; assessor, A. L. Gumbert.

Diane Elizabeth Gilles, Daughter of Howard William Gilles and Joyce Elizabeth Buck, graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1966. She then worked on the Wisconsin Legislative Budget Staff for two years prior to moving to the West Coast where she held various positions in advertising and banking. At the time of her retirement in January, 1991, she was Vice President/Director of advertising and public relations at North American Mortgage Company, Santa Rosa, California. She lived in Tucson, Arizona from March, 1992 until December of 1993 when she moved to Middleton, Wisconsin. Diane was an accomplished pianist and had recently been accepted into the Allegro Club of Madison. She was also a member of the AAUW Book Club, Newcomers Club, Bosom Buddies and the Unity Church of Madison.

They had a son and a daughter in England. He married second a woman named Ann, born about 1629. They had at least three sons in Virginia.
